The Yates Group is the brain child of Dr. Lucian Yates, III.

PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Yates has served in a variety of education roles in four states: Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Dr. Yates has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, superintendent, Kentucky Department of Education, Professor, and Dean. He was invited to the former Soviet Union to work with teachers and principals as they moved from Communism to Democracy. Dr. Yates has studied with Dr. Madeline Hunter, Drs. Kenneth and Rita Dunn, Dr. Bernice McCarthy, Dr. Ted Sizer, and many, many more.
Dr. Yates was featured on a call in talk show with Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich, Secretary of Education, Richard Reilly, and President Bill Clinton to discuss school-to-work initiatives. Dr. Yates' role as superintendent was featured in the December 2002 edition of U.S. News and World Report and the January 2003 edition of The New Yorker. Additionally, he was awarded the Ohio Social Studies Teacher of the Year and the Outstanding Young Professional award.
Currently, Dr. Yates is Professor of Educational Leadership at the Whitlowe R. Green College of Education at Prairie View A&M University. He has distinguished himself as a leader, builder, and a consummate educator. He is a sought after speaker and trainer and currently manages The Yates Group.
RESEARCH AND CREATIVE INTERESTS
Dr. Yates research interests include the areas of administration, achievement gap, learning styles, male mentoring, and teaching students of color. He has consulted with several schools, school districts and non-profits around the country in the areas of restructuring, educational reform, team building, organizational development, learning styles, Board/Superintendent Relationships, and African American Males.
